THE GREAT INDIAN WHITE ELEPHANT!

THE GREAT INDIAN WHITE ELEPHANT!

I recently got a mail from a friend who gave me some statistics on the expenditure meted out by our exchequer to RUN THE GREAT INDIAN PARLIAMENT. When I computed the figures and interpolated some more data, the ultimate picture really astonished me. Shocked I asked myself," DO WE REALLY REQUIRE THIS WHITE ELEPHANT". My answer was NO, a big NO. You will ask me," what is the alternative?" My stock reply will be: CONSIDER SWITCHING OVER TO PRESIDENTIAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT WITHOUT A PARLIAMENT. Yes ,we do not need this DEMOCRACY for another 40-50 years. We are not mature enough to practise this. See for yourself.

NOTE:-

All these are very MODERATE ESTIMATES, FOR WANT OF NON-AVAILABILITY OF ACTUAL DATA. ACTUAL FIGURE MAY ONE AND A HALF TIMES OF IT.

Do they really deserve this? Think of the GOLDEN QUARDILATERAL & EAST-WEST CORRIDOR PROJECT WHICH required only Rs 28,000 Crores. Think of our Defence Budget WHICH is around Rs One Lakh per year. AND THIS EXPENDITURE on MPs/MLAs IS 12 % of it every year. THINK of our education Budget which is nowhere near this expenditure. GUESS HOW MUCH THIS IS OF THE GDP? How about this as a percentage of deficit annual budget? HOW DO WE REMOVE POVERTY? Simple! BY REMOVING THE POOR---IS IT?
What do they do to justify this expenditure? They fight; they abuse each OTHER; THEY THROW CHAIRS AND MIKES ON EACH OTHER; THEY SHOUT DOWN AND HOWL AT EACH OTHER IN THAT SANCTUM SANCTORIUM; THEY PASS LAWS WHICH ARE IMPRACTICAL AND NON-IMPLEMENTABLE; THEY DO NOT DEBATE ISSUES CONCERNING THE NATION , THEY WASTE TIME FIGHTING AND DENIGRATING EACH OTHER; THEY DO NOT QUESTION THE BOSS, THEY MERELY RAISE HANDS ON THE COMMAND OF THEIR WHIPS; MOST OF THEM ARE 'DUMBOS' WHO RARELY ATTEND THE PARLIAMENT/ ASSEMBLY.THEY THINK THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW OF THE LAND AND SUPREME COURT HAS NO JURISDICTION OVER THEM. BOW YE SILLY COUNTRYMEN, BEFORE OUR GREAT TEMPLE OF DEMOCRACY! MATTERS NOT WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE! WHERE ARE WE HEADING? THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL. PLEASE READ IT, MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN!
And they are elected by THE PEOPLE OF INDIA , by the largest democratic process in the world. THEY DO NOT NEED ANY QUALIFICATION. But a CLERK must be a GRADUATE. They make LAWS FOR US TO BE LAWLESS THEMSELVES! They can splurge and go on foreign jaunts on our money but the poor common man must die of hunger on the Parliament street in DELHI. This is how all our tax money is being swallowed and common man is burried deep underneath THE HIMALYAN PRICE HIKE on our regular commodities....... Are they sensitive to him? Your guess is mine. INDIA IS SHINING, MY FRIENDS,---THROUGH THE REFLECTED LIGHT OF THE BROKEN PROMISES AND SHATTERED HOPES. INDIA IS RIDING AWAY TO OBLIVION, MY COUNTRY MEN, ON THE BACK OF THESE GREAT WHITE ELEPHANTS. HAIL PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY!

Think of the great democracy we have.............
